Laptop Compaq

I have an HP laptop and a Compaq laptop. How do I connect these two teams to form a network?
HP uses the laptop Windows XP Professional, while the Compaq using Windows XP Home Edition. I would like to make a wireless network with these two laptops so they can use the Internet at the same time. Both have Bluetooth capabilities. I only have a DSL modem and an Internet account. Do I have to buy router or any other gadget for connecting the two laptops? Hi, you can exchange data between laptops using Bluetooth protocol, but want to be able to take them to a workgroup. Here are instructions for both their laptops on one network / Workgroup: wireless IF YOU: 1. For both teams: Click "My Network Places and click Properties. Click the "connection Wireless Network "icon and click the Properties icon and click Properties again. Now to the left, click the TCP / IP and click the Properties button. 2. For the primary computer (eg HP) assign any IP address like 192.168.1.2 3. On the other laptop assign 192.168.1.3 4. Gateway type 192.168.1.1 into the "Default" Bohte text box LAPTOPS. Save the changes you made. Now right-click on the "My Computer". Click Properties. Under the name of "Team" tab ensure that the work group name is the same. (its best to assign a workgroup name as WORKGROUP). Make sure the computer has colomn description names different for both teams. Choose any name as portable Mike, Steve machine .. nothing. That's it! You're done. Open "My Network Places" and click click "View workgroup teams" in the left navigation bar. You should be able to another computer on the network for each team. I know this sounds complicated. Its not. Trust me. If you encounter problems, go back and update your question. Either I or someone else here will help you out. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO: Connect to the LAN ports of two computers using a crossover cable. Repeat the above steps. Only instead of clicking on "wireless connection", click "network local area network (LAN) "All the best.
