My external hard drive does not work when connected via eSATA. Works fine with USB.?
I have an HP laptop with a built-in port eSATA. Running Windows Vista. Computer also will not start when connected via eSATA. It's a Seagate drive 1.5 TB. Any ideas would be appreciated. Check Your drivers and cable. Sometimes you can be long too on the line or fall can cause strung out. It could also be that your motherboard does not support eSATA boot process. Go to BIOS and make sure it is configured to boot to the drive first. Good luck.
